I’d been looking for this book for a while. Eventually, I found this book set in a
bookstore. On the book jacket, it wrote: “Buy the Chinese version and get the
English one free”.
Round 1: What’s the relationship between the
Chinese and the English version of “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” as
suggested by the book jacket?
Round 2: This book set is printed and supposed to
be sold in mainland. Do you think the Hong Kong
publisher would offer a similar book set? Why or why not?
Round 3: What makes such a different?
Round 4: Adam Smith also wrote only two books. “The wealth of nation” is commonly found in
nearly all book stores. Yet, “The theory of moral sentiments” is not available.
Can you think of the reason why?
Round 5: What books would you expect Hong Kong publishers would choose if they really want to
offer a book set of this kind?
Round 6: It seems to be a common phenomenon that
buying a book set costs a buyer less as compare to buying the books separately.
Why?
Round 7: Can you name some other examples of this
kind?
